Say Anything by sad-disco
This film is much better than just the iconic ‘standing across the street with a boombox playing Peter Gabriel above my head’ scene. Not only is it based in the greatest city in the universe, but the characters are rich and the language so dense. It’s a remarkable achievement in Cameron Crowe’s career and one of my very favorite movies.
Watch this then watch High Fidelity (another fave) because Rob Gordon could basically be an older Lloyd Dobler and both films are fantastic. And then when you are done watching those movies, read the High Fidelity book.
