In the span of the two weeks during a grand slam, so many stories can unfold. Seeds will fall and new stars will arise. Wild cards impress and scrappy vets take another shot at glory. Expectations are simultaneously fulfilled and squandered.
The brain and body relationship is continuously tested. Racquets are broken, tears and blood are shed. 35-shot rallies of brilliance and emotional riptides abound, that’s what grand slam tennis is all about.
So sorry other sports, but tennis will always be my first love.
